課程簡介 Course Description
|
College English I is the first half of the required four-credit, four-skill comprehensive English language course designed for NCCU freshmen. In this particular class, learners will practice reading, listening, speaking, and writing along with the unit themes introduced. Students will be guided by the instructor in developing fluency through a range of classroom activities and after-class assignments. More specifically, learners will be directed to focus on writing expository paragraphs.

By the end of the semester, learners who fulfilled the course requirements are expected to have acquired or done the following.
- A sizable vocabulary related to the unit themes
- Language exercises contextualized in real-life scenarios
- Practices of target structures using familiar language forms
- Key listening skills such as inferring and note taking
- Reading of articles under a variety of genres and topics
- Lots of speaking opportunities in conversations and presentations
- Knowledge and practice on paragraph writing
